RESEARCH

The driving questions this project seeks to answer are:

  1. What are the associations between teachers’ attitudes about mathematics, mathematical knowledge for teaching, and understanding of modeling before and after targeted PD in mathematical modeling?

  2. What aspects of teaching modeling to elementary students are challenging for teachers?

  3. In what ways is modeling exhibited in elementary grades mathematics classrooms?
